Lucille Meyers

Lucille Meyers, 84, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services will at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 30, 2016, at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, where visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lucille T., daughter of Julius and Jenny (Jordon) Trostheim, was born October 25, 1931, in Scarville, Iowa.  She grew up in Forrest City and completed the eighth grade.

On May 9, 1953, Lucille was united in marriage with Donald E. Meyers in Sioux City, Iowa. Six children were born to this union. Lucille and Donald made their home in Sioux City where Lucille worked at Mean’s Laundry before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She liked to pass the time by crocheting, doing puzzle books and watching sci-fi.

Lucille is survived by five children: Gene Meyers; David Meyers and wife Jolene; Donald E. Meyers Jr. and wife Janet; Kenneth Meyers and wife Darlene; and Lois Simmons and husband Jeff; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister Marion Trostheim. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Diane Harding and husband Dale; seven sisters: Alice, Margaret, Gladys, Mildred, Helen, Doris and Esther; and three brothers: Robert, Donald and Carl.
