Janet A. Hansen, 84 of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at a local nursing facility. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Tom Murray officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with family present, will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be offered to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Siouxland. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Janet was born on January 17, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa to Edward and Helen (Jandt) Durlin and has spent her entire life as a Sioux City resident. She married Clifford Hansen on December 26, 1953 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, where she has been a life-time member. Janet was a teacher for years before enjoying being a homemaker.
Janet is survived by her husband Clifford Hansen; children Kirk Hansen of Sioux City, Lisa Koester and her husband David of Marshalltown, IA, Lori Gedwillo and her husband Steve of Omaha, NE, and Todd Hansen and his wife Jill of Moville, IA; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
Casket Bearers will be Tyler Hansen, Chad Hansen, Andy Koester, Tony Gedwillo, Aaron Gedwillo, and Samuel Gedwillo.
