Margaret A. “Marge” Hemmelrick, 76 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rev. Kevin Roach will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday with the family present from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Marge was born August 11, 1940 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Ed and Dorothy (Emery) Langley. Marge grew up in Sioux City and married Norman R. Christenson. To this union 4 children were born. She later married Jack Hemmelrick.
Marge was a caring and giving person and she will be greatly missed. She enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking and being a special friend to many. One of Marge’s most memorable times was the 7 years she lived in the Virgin Islands.
Survivors include her 4 children: Greg Christenson (Lisa) of Chester, SD, Cindy Fergen of Grand Haven, MI, Shane Christenson of Bruce, SD and Melinda “Mindy” Ruehle-Irwin (David Irwin) of Sioux City; 7 grandchildren: Justin Christenson, Jereme Christenson, Nick Fergen, Aaron Fergen, Kylie Christenson, Brandon Christenson and Shayna Ruehle; and great grandchildren: Braxton and Marley Christenson and baby Zion Smith on the way.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a brother Jim Langley.
