August J. Waderich

August J. Waderich, 94 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at a local care facility.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Rev. Russell Senstad will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

August was born August 20, 1922 in Soldier, IA; he was the son of Carl and Eva (Reiling) Waderich. August farmed in the Castana area for over 30 years. He moved to Sioux City and worked at Bomgaars, as a carpenter and then retired from the City of Sioux City.

August was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Bernice of Sioux City; his children: Joanne Sykora and Don Waderich both of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. August is also survived by an adopted daughter Edith and her family and a son in law Donnie.

August was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Lorraine, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and their spouses, a brother in law and his spouse and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sunrise Retirement Community and Hospice of Siouxland for the wonderful care they gave to August.
