Dorothy Williams, 84, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, at a local nursing home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Roger Madden officiating. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016, with family present from 6 PM to 8 PM and a prayer service at 7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Logan Park Cemetery.
Dorothy, daughter of Denver and Lydia Waddell, was born August 20, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City.
On September 14, 1957, Dorothy was united in marriage with Charles Williams in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Sioux City. Two sons were born to this union. Dorothy was mostly a stay at home mom and also worked with her sister cleaning houses.
Dorothy enjoyed playing Bingo, going fishing, flowers and gardening. She cherished the time spent with her sisters and brothers, and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: Kenny Williams and David Williams, both of Sioux City; five grandchildren: Scott, Lisa, Kristie, Christopher and Caitlin; seven great-grandchildren: Dominic, Gavin, Karina, Jaelyn, Brayden, Sophie and Rowan; and a brother Eugene (Karen) Waddell of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, sisters: Helen Dodds and Darlene Rubida; and brothers: Duane (Beverly) Waddell, Roger (Lillian) Waddell, Wesley (Bertha) Waddell, and Ed Waddell.
