JoAnn E. Hamilton, 71 of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 comforted by family. Funeral Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Pastor Mark McGlohon, of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation, with family present, will begin at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. JoAnn was born on August 10, 1944 in Vallejo, California to Noah E. and Dorothy “Edna” (Faust) Gwin. She married David Hamilton on November 28, 1964 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. JoAnn was proud to be a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Sioux City.
JoAnn is survived by her husband David of Sioux City; daughter Dana Padron and her husband Martimiano and their children Emeral Hamilton, Britani Rodriguez, Alicia Maeda-Padron, and Virginia Padron, all of Sioux City, son David Hamilton, Jr. and his wife Norigen and their children Eimile Hamilton and Dustin Hamilton, all of Ankeny, Iowa, and daughter SarahJo Hamilton and her children Theodore Hamilton and Oracio Alderette-Hamilton, all of Sioux City; five great-grandchildren; and brother Noah “Sonny” Gwin and his wife Adela of Sioux City.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter Honey Maria Hamilton.
