Sioux City, IA – Eugene John Stowe, 72, of Sioux City, IA passed away peacefully at the home of his brother in Council Bluffs, IA on Sunday, July 10, 2016, after a 2 year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Eugene was born December 26, 1943 at Hartington, NE to Sidney F. Stowe and Hilda Anne Serger.
Eugene lived in Sioux City most of his life. He spent time in the Army from 1965 to 1967 where he was stationed in Alaska. Eugene moved to Council Bluffs two years ago for medical reasons.
He is survived by seven siblings: Thresia Molden of Piru, CA, Sidney Jr. (Barbara) of Council Bluffs, IA, Angeline LaCroix of Ankeny, IA, Lee Ander (Alice) of Miles City, MT, Jackie (Ken) Hunting of Topeka, KS, Victor of Sioux City, IA, and DeWayne (Sally) of Sioux City, IA; one sister-in-law, Liz Stowe of Sioux City, IA; two special granddaughters: Trinity Shupe and Kiarra Fullas; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Leroy and Ronnie; and three sisters: Elizabeth, Dorothy and Carol.
