Glenda L. Hansen, 81, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away June 19, 2016 at Countryside Retirement Home.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds. Burial will be at Rademacher Cemetery in Hinton, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

 Glenda was born June 25, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Laura (Fergerson) Harward. Due to her father’s early death, the father Glenda knew was her stepfather Floyd Stewart. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1952.

Glenda married James Hansen on January 31, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa. Glenda and James had four children: Kevin, Dennis, Bryan, and Darin. She started working at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in 1967. She worked at St. Luke’s for 32 years, retiring in 1999.

Glenda loved to crochet, play cards, take trips when she could, and she loved to have coffee with her friends.

Survivors include her daughter in law Lorrie Hansen, sons: Dennis (Charlene) of Chanhassen, MN, Bryan (Mary) of Sioux City, and Darin (Jodi) of Rogers, MN; 9 Grandchildren: Zachary (Kendra) Hansen, Neil (Robin) Lundgren, Bennett Hansen, Ellen Hansen, Brad (Amanda) Hansen, Leah (Victor) Contreras, Rachel (Adam) Turner, Madison Hansen, and Mitchell Hansen; 5 Great Grandchildren: Kasmine Hamilton, Titus Lundgren, Chloe Lundgren, Tyson Contreras, and Brayden Hansen with two more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, her husband James, son Kevin, and one brother Marlin.
