Mark Macaire Fischer, 59, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside with Rev. McClain officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Mark was born on January 15, 1957 in Sioux City to Joseph and Alva Louise (Lee) Fischer. Mark was united in marriage to Betty Einck in 1978 in Elk Point, SD. He worked for 30 plus years as a landscaper for the family business. He was most recently employed for the last 10 years with Schuster Trucking Co. as an over the road truck driver.
Mark loved riding his motorcycle, working on old cars, firearms and was always up for an adventure. He loved his pets and enjoyed cooking and eating. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren teaching them everything he knew. He made it a point to build strong relationships with everyone around him and always kept in contact with those people. He loved sporting his beard and loved all people who wore them with pride. Although Mark wasn’t a veteran, he was proud of his children who were and was a patriot who believed in America.
Mark is survived by his wife Betty Fischer of Sioux City; 5 sons Eric (Misty) Fischer of Leigh, NE; Joshua Fischer of Syracuse, UT; Zachariah (Jennifer) of Fairbanks, AK; Jarred (Ashley) Fischer of Wahiawa, HI; and Victor Fischer of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren; sister Louise Fischer-Barger of Sioux City; brothers Greg G. (Sharon) Fischer of Sioux City; Roger (Pat) Fischer of Sioux City and Harry (Sam) Fischer of Stewartville, MN.
He was preceded in death by parents and a sister Maryann.
