Milton Petty, age 75, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 16, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Milton Philip, son of Milton Philip and Arlene G. (Blum) Petty, was born August 21, 1940, in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1958.

 

On October 8, 1960, Milton was united in marriage with Mary Ann Keller at St. Michael Catholic Church. Six children were born to this union. Milton worked in sales, and for most of his career worked with Sioux City Foundry, Tri-State Drywall and Burke Engineering.

 

Milton was a member of St. Michael parish and for many years was active in the Construction League/Homebuilder’s Association. He enjoyed sharing a story, playing cards and having happy hour on the porch with his neighbors. Milton cherished the time spent with his kids and grandchildren.

 

Milton is survived by his wife Mary Ann Petty; five children: Mark Petty and wife Jenny; Matt Petty and wife Theresa; Marcia Vazquez and husband Ruben; Michele Harris and husband Doug; and Mary Pat Acero; 15 Grandchildren; 19 Great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Julia Kirkegaard and husband Wayne; and a brother Robert Petty and wife Patricia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael.
