Mary Lynn Quinlain

October 21, 1947 — May 2, 2016

Mary Lynn Quinlain, 68 of Sioux City passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

 

Prayer services will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, IA. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Mary was born October 21, 1947 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of John and Ardyce (Bernard) Satter. Mary grew up in Sioux City, graduated from Heelan High School and then attended National Business Training (NBT) in Sioux City. Mary excelled doing her life’s work as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and true friend.

 

Mary joined Lawrence Quinlain in marriage on June 18, 1966. For fifty years she remained committed to her true love and soulmate.

 

Mary was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and she was a firm believer in the Lord. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with all. Mary was a huge “I Love Lucy” fan and enjoyed traveling with family and friends, cooking, reading and learning new things. Mary will be remembered as someone who always found a way to make everyone feel special. Mary always remembered the little things and was there with kind words of encouragement or a simple touch when it mattered most. Her strength, kindness, and gentle nature will be missed by many.

 

Survivors include her husband, lifelong friend and true love Larry of Sioux City; 3 children: Scott Quinlain (“the worrisome one”) of Kansas City, MO, Jana Danielson (“the difficult one”) and her husband Todd of Omaha, NE, John Quinlain (“the pleasant one”) and his wife Georgie of Sioux City; her brother: Richard Satter and his wife Jacque of Sioux City; her sister: Joan Worrell and her husband Mike of Sioux City; and 5 grandchildren who were the light of her life: Kasey, Nikole, Alex, Mary and Matthew.

 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her cousin Greg with whom she had a special friendship.
