Stephen Linn Adams, 73, of North Sioux City, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital.

Mr. Adams was born July 29, 1942, the son of Clifford and Mary Adams. He graduated from Central High School in 1960. He attended Grinnell College, where he was on the Dean's list, and later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1964.
After working in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, he returned to Sioux City where he worked as an architectural designer. He then started his own company and was a self employed building contractor and real estate investor for many years before his retirement in 2000.
Throughout his life, he traveled extensively through the western United States where he enjoyed rock climbing, and walking nature trails, particularly in Vail and Aspen, Colorado and Sedona, Arizona.
He was an accomplished artist, specializing in oil painting, charcoal sketches, and pottery. A collection of his work will be shown in Sioux City at a later date.
Survivors include his step son Ben Waitt Hunnel and many good friends including Greg Cabana, Cindy Waitt, Ron Gabrielson, and William Lovsmith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
