Dorothy A. Sabo, 98 of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at her residence comforted by family. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend R. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Dorothy was born on May 23, 1917 in Bayard, Nebraska to John D. and Mary (Leslie) Cain. She received her education in Winnebago and Homer, Nebraska. Dorothy married Carl Leonard Sabo on September 4, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was an amazing homemaker, and worked outside the home at Tangerson’s Nursing Home for 4 years, and Marion Health Center for 33 years. Dorothy moved to Florida following the death of her husband in 1989. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church throughout her years living in Sioux City, along with the years she’s lived in Florida.
Dorothy is survived by her children Joan Simmons of Eugene, OR, Kenneth (Gloria) Sabo of Las Cruces, NM, Marjorie Rempel of Oceanside, CA, Mary Sabo of Cedar Rapids, IA, Duane Sabo of New Port Richey, FL, and Donald (Diana) Sabo of Stanton, IA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 11 siblings Margarette, John, Rowena, Leslie, Mike, David, Bea, Harold, Millie, Charlie, and George.
