Alexis was born May 7, 2000, in Omaha, NE. She was the daughter of Jason and Karri (Doxtad) Wilde. She attended Nodland/Sunnyside Elementary, East Middle School, and was currently a sophomore at East High School where she was taking advanced placement and honors classes.
Alexis taught swimming lessons at Siouxland Aquatics and was a certified life guard. She also volunteered for the Environmental Advisory Board, the Siouxland Humane Society, and was going to start donating blood after her 16th birthday. Through all of these extra curricular activties she was working on receiving her three cords for graduation.
Her smile and kind words were contagious; her natural instinct was to infect as many people as possible with her kindness. She loved spoiling her dogs, but Teak held a special place in her heart. She also enjoyed playing basketball when she was younger, playing the guitar, going to concerts, and listening to music. As a daddy’s girl, her love for learning about cars and motorcycle rides with her dad were cherished moments. Nail days, shopping, and movies with her mom were special, too. After graduation she was going to travel to Rio, and then had planned to attend college to become an anesthesiologist.
Survivors include her parents, Jason and Karri Wilde; a sister, Kay-Lea Wilde of Sioux City and her long-time boyfriend, Mason Lofshult of Sloan, IA; her best friend, Daysia Dannar; maternal grandparents, Elsa Douglas of Omaha, NE, and Leon Doxtad of Sioux City; paternal grandparents, Darvene and Robert Verschoor of Sioux City; uncle, Justin Wilde of Sioux City; great-aunt, June Doxtad; great-uncle, Larry Doxtad; numerous cousins and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Mary Doxtad; paternal grandfather, Donald Zietler; and maternal step-grandfather, Thomas Douglas.
At this time, a memorial fund will be set up in her name at Central Bank in Sioux City beginning Monday.
