Charles F. Bean, 78, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, April 06, 2016 at a Sioux City Hospital. Per his request his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Trimble United Methodist Church with Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. There will be a private family burial of cremains for Charles and his wife Patricia at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Charles was born on September 5, 1937 in Sioux City, IA to George R. and Della Alice (Harvey) Bean. He graduated from Dakota City High School and attended Wesleyan College in Lincoln, NE. He was united in marriage to Patricia Carol Smith on February 14, 1960 in Washta, IA. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2015 in Sioux City. Charles was a Supervisor for 48 years at Aalfs Manufacturing retiring in January of 2006.
He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed spending time bowling. In his youth he enjoyed playing basketball and was very involved in 4 H raising hogs of which he received numerous ribbons for. He was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church.
Charles is survived by his daughters Dani (Gary) Tompkins of Sioux City; Barbara Bean and special friend Jed Leachman of El Paso, TX; son Greg (Andrea) Bean of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
