Phillip Bruno, age 62, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, where visitation will take place starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Phillip Allan, son of Fred and Ruth (Miller) Bruno, was born June 17, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in Sioux City and attended North Junior High and graduated from Central High School in 1971. He then worked for Albertson’s/Sioux Tools, Bomgaars and Gherkins. Phillip was married to and later divorced from Kris Vahussen.
Phillip was a good cook and enjoyed artwork, painting, tinkering around his house doing carpentry, electrical and plumbing and caring for his yard and garden.
He is survived by his mother Ruth Bruno of Sioux City; his aunt Mary Palmer of South Sioux City, NE; and by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents: Percy and Jesse Miller and Phillip and Christina Bruno; and his beloved dog Cubs.
