Kenneth R. Bjork, 86 of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness.

Private graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation with the family present will be from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www. meyerbroschapels.com.

Ken was born January 20, 1930 in Sioux City; he was the son of Bert and Helena (Karrer) Bjork. Ken grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. He married Bonnie Witt October 21, 1950 in Sioux City, and she passed away August 23, 2004 in Sioux City.

Ken began working at Williges Clothing Store while in high school and worked as a furrier, then later became the store manager. In 1970, Ken purchased Fishgalls and operated it for over 20 years. After his retirement, Ken worked for Mid-Step Services.

Ken was one of the founders of Rivercade, was active in Jaycees, and routinely participated in promoting the Sioux City community. His leisure activities included golf, travel, and his Friday afternoon card games. He most enjoyed his time with family and friends.

Survivors include 2 sons: Kevin Bjork and his wife Cristi of Cherokee, IA, Randy Bjork and his wife Tosha of Tyler, TX; 3 grandchildren: Kristin Bjork, Chad Bjork, Brandon Bjork and his wife Kristin; 6 step grandchildren: Ariel, Sam, Mahanaim, Zeru, Salem and Cresa Peterson.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie, 1 brother Marvin “Bud” Bjork, and 3 sisters: Dorothy, Florine and Viola.
