Tina was born November 19, 1917 in Hiawatha Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Baker) Daniels. As a young girl she played the violin and participated in sports – basketball and baseball, which she enjoyed watching throughout her life. She graduated from Hiawatha High School. After graduation she moved to Sioux City and married Ermene Rodriguez in September of 1939. They had one daughter, Angelina. Tina worked at Swift Packing Company for several years, later becoming an executive assistant at the Salvation Army Men’s Social Service in Sioux City. She retired after 25 years. She loved her family most and enjoyed the many trips she took to visit her daughter’s family. Tina was also close to her in-laws, brothers and sisters-in-law and good friends and neighbors, the Worden family. An avid gardener, she spent many hours tending to her yard. Strong in her faith, she attended St. Joseph’s and St. Boniface.
Survivors include her daughter, Angelina Lapora of Bellevue, WA, four grandchildren – Anne Lapora of Seattle, WA, Lisa (Bob) Boucher of Rigby, Idaho, Don Lapora of Renton, WA and Jill (Doug) McClure of Kent, WA and brothers Mike Daniels of San Diego, CA and Pete (Virginia) Daniels of Milton, Florida; great grandchildren Lisa Anne (James), Katie, Ashly, Kyle, Andrew, Matthew and Ryan; two great-great grandchildren Elizabeth and Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Joe Jr. and Sonny; and sisters Elvita, Josephine, Juanita and Delfina; son-in-law, Don Lapora.
We love and miss you Momma Jo, but know that you are with your beloved Ermene.
