Jasper D. Craig, 73, of North Sioux City, SD passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at a Sioux City Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Per his wishes, he will be cremated following the services. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil service held at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jasper was born on March 13, 1943 in Rural Sioux City to John D. and Geneva (Grims) Craig. Jasper worked as a carpenter all his life working for various companies in the Siouxland area.
He enjoyed cooking, visiting the local casinos in North Sioux City, working on cars and watching football. Of all his loves and interests in his life, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was his greatest one.
Jasper is survived by his 5 children, Darrell (Deb) Craig of Moville, IA; Cindy M. (Donald) Pinney of Sioux City; Robert “Tony” (Heather) Craig of Sergeant Bluff, IA; Jason Craig and special friend Shawn Honken of Sioux City; and John Craig of Sioux City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers Martin Joseph (Kathy) Craig of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; William Craig of San Diego, CA; and Phillip (Karen) of Mankato, MN and a sister-in-law Margaret Craig of Ponca, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, John E. Craig, Curtis Craig and Benjamin Craig.
Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Jasper which will go towards a memorial bench to be placed at Queen of Peace for all to enjoy.
