Jeri Ann Brazzell, age 63, of Riverland Estates, South Dakota, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at her home. Funeral services will at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Jeri Ann, daughter of Frank and Verval (Pearson) Ostapoff, was born April 8, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up and graduated from East High School in 1970, where she was very active in football cheerleading. She also attended the University of South Dakota and Wayne State.
She then worked for Northwestern Bell. After taking a position with IBP, she was transferred to North Carolina where she spent the next 15 years. While in North Carolina, she also worked for Guilford College. Over the years Jeri enjoyed working in different kennels taking care of all her beloved animals.
On September 20, 2008, Jeri was united in marriage with the love of her life, Tom Brazzell, in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Riverland Estates, South Dakota.
Jeri was an animal lover. She had many pets, enjoyed riding horses, and loved eagles. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Carolina Panthers, as well as the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Jeri cherished the many vacations spent with Tom in Northern Minnesota, as well as their time spent fishing and enjoying life together on the Missouri River.
Jeri is survived by her husband Tom Brazzell of Riverland Estates, South Dakota; her mother Verval Ostapoff of Sioux City; three siblings: Marjorie Lorenger and husband Roger of Denison; Wally Ostapoff and wife Pam of Sioux City; and Jo Ellen Petrik and husband Steve of Sioux City; and by many nieces and nephews. Jeri was preceded in death by her father Frank Ostapoff. She left behind three beloved pets.
