James Ray “Jim” Tott, 60 of Hartford, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Jim was born on January 8, 1956 in Sioux City to Ray Vincent and Marion J. (Jacobson) Tott. He received his education in the Sioux City Public Schools, attending Central High. In his youth, Jim worked at the stockyards in Sioux City. Jim married Benita Quigley on August 14, 1989 in the Rose Garden of Grandview Park. He was an extraordinary mechanic, and was self-employed. Jim enjoyed fishing, gambling, collecting clocks, but his greatest joy was family, especially his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his children Stacy Bochik (Mark) of Hartford, IA, Rhea Quigley-Williams of Sioux City, IA, Jaymie Quigley (Eric) of Des Moines, IA, Joseph Quigley of Sioux City, IA, and Cora Tott (Chris Smith) of Sioux City, Iowa; brother Michael (Marcia) Tott of Pender, NE; sister Glenda (Dan) Jefferis of Ainsworth, NE; and 20 grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Benita in 2014, and son Ray Michael Quigley in 2013.
