Lois A. Redshaw, 87, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at a local care center.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Len Halvorson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lois was born March 24, 1928 in Roundlake, MN, the daughter of Clarence William and Elfrieda Caroline (Jaeger) Swanson. She attended O’Brien County Schools and graduated from Gaza High School in 1946. Lois graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. She married John Everett Redshaw on November 14, 1953 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1988.
Lois was a registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a member of the P.E.O., Red Hat Society, St. Luke’s Nursing Auxiliary, First Lutheran Women’s Group, and a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. Lois enjoyed playing cards and bridge.
Lois is survived by her children: Carla (Garry) Rapala of Tomah, WI, Valerie (Jan) Hedlund of Broomfield, CO, Jana (Kevin) Neuzil of Sioux City, and Gregory (Sandy) Redshaw of Underwood, IA; eleven grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a brother John (Mary) Swanson of Ocheyedan, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and a brother Floyd Swanson.
