Jimmy M. Cosier, 91, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at a local care facility. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend Paul Andell officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Private family graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jimmy was born January 20, 1925 in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Irene (Remington) Cosier. He grew up in Cherokee and at the age of seventeen joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in Alaska until 1944. Jimmy married Arlene Wall on December 18, 1946 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a true entrepreneur, working numerous positions, and ending his career with 25 years in Real Estate. Jimmy was a 59 year member of the Morningside Masonic Lodge #615 and a member of the Board of Realtors. After his retirement, Jimmy and Arlene enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, visiting all 50 States, Canada, and Mexico. Survivors include his wife Arlene; children: Sheri (Darrell) Chambers of Sioux City, Jimmy E. (Faith) Cosier of Sioux City, and Jeff (Cheryl) Cosier of Rapid City, SD; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters.
