Greg was born on July 2, 1948 in Seattle, WA to Fred and Iola (Andersen) Cole. As a young child, the family moved to Tustin, CA where Greg graduated from high school.   He went on to graduate from the University of Colorado - Boulder with an Economics Degree. He served his country for a short time in the U.S. Navy. He spent the majority of his life working in the risk management field taking on many projects of which he received numerous awards for. Some of his accomplishments include assisting in the 911 Ground Zero Project, assisting with an upstart, now a national sandwich franchise and building/assisting with several oil refineries.

Greg had a passion for animals. He would always find a way to give every stray cat or dog a loving home. He enjoyed photography, movies, music and playing the guitar. He loved all genres of music but was especially fond of the Beatles and Paul McCartney. One of his greatest moments in life was getting to see the Beatles live. Of all the interests Gregory had, his passion was golfing. Whenever he had a free moment he would be on the golf course playing. He will be forever remembered as a gentle, kind, easy going person by all whose lives he touched.

Those left to cherish his legacy are: his best friend, Marilyn Eickholt of Sioux City, IA and her siblings: Dr. Marj Eickholt (Jack Donovan) of rural Sioux City; Deb Robinson of Akron, IA; Diane Dynes of Annawan, IL; Ray (Sandy) Eickholt of Rembrandt and LeMars, IA and Joe (Penny) Eickholt of rural Hinton, IA, many nieces and nephews and his much-loved cat, Gabriel “Orangie”.

Those going before him include his parents, a sister, Kathy Cole and her daughter, Zoe Cole, and many furry four-legged ‘children’.

Memorials will be directed to research for Parkinsons Disease.
