Pierrette “Pete” Rose Titus, 98, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Holy Spirit Care Center surrounded by her family.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 12, 2016 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home with Father Dennis Meinen and Father Armand J. Bertrand officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at

Pete was born April 15, 1917 in Rosemont, Canada the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Pichette) Demers. The family moved to Jefferson, SD when Pete was five years old and she attended St. Peter’s Catholic School.
Pete married Raymond A. Titus on December 18, 1939 in Dakota City, NE. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1988 in Sioux City.
Pete worked for F.W. Means Laundry and Gary Jones Auctioneer for a number of years. She enjoyed collecting stamps and cookie jars and was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
Pete is survived by her children: Joe (Marie) Titus of Williamson, NY, Margaret (Frank) Marino of Sioux City, Darlane Peterson of Sioux City, and Alice (Perry) Swan of Stomping Ground, KY; 16 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; a sister Yvonne Bertrand of Sioux City; a brother A.F. “Jerry” Demers of Garden Grove, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Herman Titus, daughter Sylvia Shook, infant daughter Mary Titus, sisters: Yvette Backer, Lucille Griencewic; brothers: Albert, Raymond, and Jon Paul Demers; and a son-in-law Marvin Peterson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Holy Spirit Chapel in Pete’s Memory. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Holy Spirit Retirement Home for their patience and kindness towards Pete and our family.
