George Edward Lundgren, 89, of Emerson, NE formally of Sioux City, IA passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 ,surrounded by loved ones, at Pender Comm. Hospital, Pender NE. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pender, NE with Pastor Robert Schilling officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. George was born Dec, 14, 1926 to Victor and Rena (Harper) Lundgren.
George attended school in Sioux City, IA. He married Pearl (Murdock) Logue July 22, 1956. George worked at Cloverleaf Cold Storage for 29 years. After retirement he moved to Oklahoma returning to Emerson, in 2001. He lived at Emerson Housing.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church in Pender NE. He was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and was head user. George enjoyed fishing and loved all kinds of ball games and would attend as many games as possible in Emerson and Pender. George loved his Lord and showed it though his loving kindness to all he knew. He was well known for always having life savers in his pockets and giving them everyone.
Those left to cherish his memories are sisters, Jeanette Amble of Sioux City; Alice Pedersen of Emerson, NE; Carol Rayevich of Solider, IA; a brother Charles Lundgren of Cascade, MT; and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by parents, brothers, Eugene, Lester, Lyle and Carl and a sister Arlayne Benson.
