Steven Groth

Steven Groth, age 58, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Memorial services will be 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM. Steven A., son of Ray and Evelyn (Davis) Groth, was born December 8, 1957, in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in the Sioux City area and graduated from high school at Jefferson, South Dakota. He was a jack of all trades, eventually settling in as a med-tech at St. Luke’s Hospital where he worked for 12 years.

Steven was a music lover and enjoyed playing checkers, watching the Denver Broncos, watching movies, collecting pictures and going to second hand stores. He enjoyed being around people, going for a walk, being on Facebook and spending time with his family. He cherished the time spent with his dog.

Steven is survived by three sons: Bryce Groth, Brett Groth and Ryan Hartman and wife Tammy; six grandchildren: Matthew, Sidney, Quinton, Alexis, Zoey, and Claryce; siblings: Andy Groth, Laura Royark, Bev Nelson and Sharon Cavallo; his significant other Gina Speulda and her family who he treated as his own: Gina’s children: Buddy, Jessica and Samantha; and her grandchildren: Aaron, Adrian, Lakota, Kambria and Isabelle; and by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray Groth and Evelyn (Groth) Plendl; his stepfather Ernie Plendl; a sister Kay Grover and his brother Ray.
