Troy Bertrand, age 54, of Sioux City, Iowa, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, January 9,

2016.

Abiding by his wishes, Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of the cremation arrangements.

Troy L. Bertrand, a lifelong resident of Sioux City, was born May 30, 1961.  He attended West High School and was a master roofer for 30 years. He loved his Boston Terriers; Izzy, Junior, Maddie and Scooper.  They never left his side.

He was the son of Merrill and Josephine (Stidfole) Bertrand, of Sioux City.  He is survived by three daughters and one son. Tosha Bertrand of Southport, Connecticut; Nicole (Joey) Ismail of Houston, Texas; Trevor Bertrand of Sioux City and Jadee Shimitz of Remsen, Iowa. Two granddaughters: Serene Elizabeth Ismail and Mila Rose Ismail of Houston, Texas. Three sisters: Renee Harvey of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Nanette (Patrick) Linsley of Ponca, Nebraska; and Yvonne (John) LaRusso of San Antonio, Texas.  Two brothers: Robert (Mary) Bertrand of Surprise, Arizona; Brian Bertrand of Sioux City and a special daughter Shawntay (Osborne) Machuca.  Five nieces, seven nephews, 15 great nieces, and nine great nephews. Many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother Josephine B. (Bertrand) Brinkerhoff, Brother Tyron A. Bertrand, grandparents Alfred and Bernette (Dufault) Bertrand and Augustus L. and Maude M. (Ritchison) Stidfole; a grandson Tanner Ashton Wixon and a sister-in-law Sheila (Sitzman) Bertrand.
