Michael B. Martin

Michael B. Martin, 55, of Sloan, IA passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at a Sioux City Hospital. Per his wishes, his body was cremated. Memorial services will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Rev. Emry Killian officiating. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Mike was born on July 29, 1960 in Omaha, NE to Miles and Mary (Behrendt) Martin. He graduated from East High School. Mike worked for several years as a Meat Cutter for various grocery stores throughout the Siouxland area. He was most recently employed for the last 10 years at the Wal-Mart on Floyd. He was united in marriage to Susanne Dahl on June 21, 2002 in Sloan, IA.

Mike was an outdoorsman. In his free time he enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He was an avid Husker and Vikings fan. Above all his interest and hobbies, he treasured being with his grandchildren the most.

He is survived by his wife Sue Martin of Sloan, IA; sons Paul (Erin) Hendricks of Sioux Falls, SD; and Pat Hendricks of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter Amanda (Randy Jones) Parker of Sloan, IA; grandchildren Jordyn, Madelyn, Kinzer, Keaton, Kayla, Cailey, Andrew, and Casie; great grandson Wyatt; brothers Jim (Cathy) Martin of Sioux City; and Doug (Jan) Martin of Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Christopher.
