Beverly J. Junck, 91, of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, December 11 at Sunrise Retirement Home. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m Monday at Morningside Lutheran Church with Rev. Darin Vick officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Beverly was born March 12, 1924, in Sioux City Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Leslie (Pecaut) Goetsch. She was the second of 5 children raised in Sioux City. She married Clair E. Junck on June 24, 1942, in Sioux City Iowa. Clair passed away Dec. 1, 1986 in Sioux City. They farmed in Bronson and settled onto a farm in the Hinton area until they retired in 1975 and moved to Sioux City. Besides raising 6 children, she worked at Johnson Biscuit Co., Sioux Bee Honey, and the Iowa State Liquor store. Beverly loved bowling, golfing, and playing cards with her siblings. Making crafts and playing bingo was something she enjoyed. Her favorite past time was working jigsaw puzzles, which all her family loved to help her with. Finding pennies was a treasure she was great at. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was what she loved the most.
Survivors include 5 sons and a daughter. Warren of Hinton and his children, Gregg, Brian, Beth, and Molly (Justin) Kaiser. Daniel (friend Gina) of Sioux Falls, SD and his children, Scott (Sherri), Becky (Chad) Hungerford, Pam (Scott) Hoefling, Amy (Chris) Traver, and Tom (Rachael)Junck. David (Sandy) of Arvada, CO and their daughter Lisa (Troy) Schiender. Doris (Warren) Lahrs of Hinton and their daughters Lori (Chad) Woods and Jodi (Scott) Cook. Ed (Barb) of Hinton and their children Jeff (Lisa), Jenny (Austin) Walrod, and Joe (Haylee)Junck. Tom (Doris) of Sioux City and their daughters Amanda (Nick) Kellen and Emily Junck. She has two brothers, Marvin Goetsch of Absecon, NJ and Roger (Nancy) Goetsch of Sioux City, a sister Joann Johnson of Sioux City, and a sister-in-law, Fern Patterson of California. There are 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws; Husband, Clair; Brothers, Roland and Jerry Goetsch; Brothers-in-law, Connie Johnson and Roger Junck; 4 sisters-in-law, Mary Jane, Blanche, and Mary Goetsch, and Johnie Mae Junck; and 2 grandchildren, John and Jake; and 3 great grandchildren; Zach, Ava, Ethan.
