Evelyn Olson, 89, of Kokomo, IN, formerly of Sioux City, IA died peacefully in Hospice Nursing Care on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Evelyn’s cremains will be brought back to Sioux City and placed to rest beside her husband in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Evy Olson, the former Evelyn Attrill was born on December 9, 1925 in Akron, IA to Harry and Clara (Labou) Attrill. She was united in marriage to Arthur Olson on December 6, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1994. Evy worked at First National Bank in Sioux City. She also worked for Dr. C. Brown in Neurology and Surgery as a LPN assisting him in Surgery and in the ICU. Evy was later married to Lloyd A. Brown in Sioux City on March 22, 1997. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2005.
She volunteered for the Salvation Army and Gospel Mission addressing the needs of others. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and wanted others to look forward to the second coming of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters Diana (Olson) Pilcher and son-in-law Robert Pilcher of Omaha, NE; Gaylynn (Olson) of Kokomo, IN; son Arvid C. Olson and daughter-in-law Sheryl Olson of Lincoln, NE; 4 grandchildren and 12 great children.
She was preceded in death by parents, 7 siblings, and her granddaughter Melissa Pilcher.
