Earl Fredrick Munter, 83, of Sioux City passed away Monday November 9, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 5, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. With the Rev. Dave Halaas officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at a later date in MN. Earl was born March 31, 1932 in Hill River Township MN. the son of Oscar and Mable (Enerson) Munter. Mr. Munter graduated from trade school in electronics repair which he later owned and operated a electronic repair shop. Earl also farmed and worked in the heating and cooling trades. Earl married Doris Larsen on April 30, 1955 in Fosston MN., into this marriage three sons were born. Mr. Munter served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 -1954. Earl enjoyed woodworking, collecting rocks and gems, Elk hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors where he especially loved to work in his flower and vegetable gardens. Mr. Munter was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Men’s club and served on the church council. Earl was a member of the V.F. W. and the American Legion. Earl is survived by his wife Doris of Sioux City two sons; Steve Munter and his wife Lori of Conifer, Co. and Keith Munter and his wife Lynda of Sioux City, daughter in law Jenny Munter of Fosston, MN., eight grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Munter was preceded in death by his parents, on son Mark Munter, one brother Johnny Munter, two great grandchildren Jonathan and Cristina.
