Ruth Alice Gill (Plummer), 91 of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa died Sunday November 22, 2015, after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 28th at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Tom LoVan officiating. Private graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, also in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Ruth was born February 4, 1924, in Sioux City to Myrl and Lila Plummer. She married Vernon Gill September 26, 1942 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. They lived in Sioux City from 1942 to 2006 when they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed being with her family, doing crafts and taking care of others. She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and of the church choir for many years. She also worked at Sioux City Stationery for several years.
She is survived by Sandra and Ron Johnson of Littleton, Colorado, and Nancy and Phil Tegeler of Lincoln, Nebraska, a son-in-law, Jim Anderson and his wife Marilyn of Sioux City. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Steve (Kari) Johnson, Scott (Janelle) Johnson, Jason (Julie) Anderson, Jenny (John) Powers, Joy Anderson, Ben (Julie) Tegeler, and Becky Tegeler, Sisters in law Dorothy Gill of Leawood, Kansas, Dianne and Rob Ellingson of Baker, Oregon; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Vernon, her daughter Sharon Anderson, brothers and sisters Maxine, Dean and Ted.
Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Scott Johnson, Ben Tegeler, Jason Anderson, John Powers and Doug Aune.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren: Colin, Cole, Christian, Cody, Sydney, Bridger, Jaden, Jarrett, Joshua, Jacob, Bennet, Blake, Jacklyn, Jessica, Boden, Campbell, Jetta, MacKenna, Dante, Randy, Greysen and Stella.
A special memorial in celebration of her life is designated to Clark Jeary Retirement Community at 8401 South 33rd, Lincoln, Nebraska 68516.
