Hazel Frazeur, age 94, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 10 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel where the family will be present from 6 PM to 8 PM. Online condolences may be left at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Hazel Mae, daughter of Etna and Mabel (Cotton) Ballard, was born December 16, 1920, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. On September 16, 1939, Hazel was united in marriage with Ralph Sears in Kimball, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union. The family made their home in Sioux City where Hazel worked with the Iowa Unemployment Office, Sears, Christian Book Store and the Post Office. Ralph preceded her in death on July 1, 1971. On July 1, 1972, Hazel was blessed with a second marriage; this time with Jesse Frazeur in Sioux City. Hazel was a member of Central Baptist Church. She participated in Child Evangelism, bible clubs, music and art, throughout her life. She was also a member and past-president of the Postal Clerks' Women's Auxiliary. Hazel is survived by: two daughters: Judi Miller and husband Robert of Sioux City and Cheri Fanciullo and husband Nels of Walla Walla, Washington; five step-children: Monica Berg of Georgia; Priscilla Peacock and husband John of Sioux City; Nancy Strub and husband Eugene of Eagle Grove; Judith Shelton and husband James of Salix; and John Phillip Frazeur of Texas; nine grandchildren: Ron, Roger, Ben, Kilara, Russ, Rachelle, Chris, Tony and Troy; 15 Step-grandchildren: Renea, Robin, Debbie, Shane, Morgan, Gwen, Amy, Mary Beth, Jeff, Rhonda, Tom, Mark, Greg, Chris and Nick; 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; both husbands; a daughter Rosalee Halvorson; a son Daniel Sears; two grandsons: Randy Berg and Jimmy Shelton; and three brothers: Earl, Wayne and Clyde Ballard.
