Charlotte Jean Morin

March 8, 1925 — November 5, 2015

Here let us remember with gratitude the generosity, graciousness, quick wit, and fierce loyalty of Charlotte Jean Morin, 90, of Sioux City, who passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at a local care facility after a brief illness. Charlotte brought her formidable powers of observation, analysis and empathy to the successful navigation of the daily conundrums of her friends and family, whether the problems were professional, personal, trivial or overwhelming, throughout her long life. Chug was always there to help. She demanded excellence, and she got it. She laughed easily, and could spot malarkey a mile off. She supported us selflessly, and taught us not to take ourselves too seriouslywhich was a great gift. Charlotte was born March 8, 1925, in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Vincent and Anna Marie (Gengler) Beacom. Charlotte grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1942. She held several clerical positions with Sioux City businesses before her marriage to Paul E. Morin on November 27, 1947. They were married for 63 years, until Paul passed away on December 10, 2010. Charlotte supported Paul's work in his lawn care business; together they raised three children and created a beautiful house and acreage that still draws their children homeall in Sioux City. Survivors include her children: Mary Ann Tordsen and her husband Craig of Sioux City, Barbara Morin of St. Paul, MN, Mike Morin and his wife Julie of Sioux City; three brothers: Vincent Beacom and his wife Lucia of Champlin, MN, Richard Beacom of Seal Beach, CA, Miles Beacom and his wife Hilda of Tijuana, Mexico; 2 sisters in law: Madonna Cunningham of Sioux City and Vergene Fessenden of Germantown, TN; three grandchildren: Sean and Sam Morin and Maarja Kolberg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins whose progress through life she followed with enthusiasm and encouragement. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, her brother Frank Beacom and his wife Shirley, her brother-in-laws John Cunningham, Jack Fessenden, Raymond Morin, Ralph Morin and his wife Lucille. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 13, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Memorial Services will be at 6:00 P.M. Friday, at the funeral home, with a full dinner to follow at the Marina Inn.
