SIOUX CITY, IA | Dennis "Denny" Robeson, 68, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at a local hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave with Reverend B.J. Van Kalsbeek officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Denny was born August 17, 1947 the son of Boyd and Margery (Millage) Robeson in Sioux City. He graduated from East High School in 1965 and attended Norfolk Junior College in Norfolk, NE for two years. He was married to Linda Molstad and to this union their daughter, Jamie was born. They later divorced. On April 15, 2011 he was united in common law marriage to Connie (Plendl) Nolen. They made their home in Leeds. Denny and Connie spent their lives together dining at their favorite restaurants, Beano & Sherry's in North Sioux City, SD and Steinbeck's in Leeds watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and dancing at Storm'n'Norman's in Waterbury. NE. In his younger years at age 14 he had a grand slam in Little League baseball at The Sioux's Baseball Park. He loved to listen, dance and sing-a-long to 60's Rock and Roll music, which included dancing to local bands such as: The Jammers, Backtrack and The Velaries. His favorite adventure to tell is when he was 18 in 1965 and Louie, Ike and him went to Minneapolis, MN to see the New York Yankees play baseball, the Minnesota Viking play football and see "The Beatles" perform. He loved watching "Batman" on TV. Before he became ill, you could always find him having coffee every day at 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Floyd Blvd. McDonald's in Wal-Mart Soaking in more knowledge. He was an avid New York Yankee and Minnesota Viking fan. You could find him at Steinbeck's watching the Iowa Hawkeyes with His Hawk friends on Saturdays. Denny (age 15) and his brother, Dean (age 16) won the WNAX 5-State doubles bowling tournament in Yankton, SD. He bowled and golfed in several Sioux City leagues and participated in several American Bowling Congress tournaments in the United State during his bowling career. Denny was elected as king of Sioux City bowlers in 1969. He was a past vice president of the Sioux City Bowling Association and he was very proud to be inducted into the Sioux City Bowling Hall of Fame in 1994. He was formerly employed at Bomgaars Supply as automotive manager, manager of A-OX (Dakota) Welding and also employed at Airgas Welding Supply and Premium Food and Beverage. He most recently was employed at the Center for Neurosciences, Orthopedics & Spine P.C. (CNOS) in Dakota Dunes, SD for over twelve years and retired due to his illness. Survivors include his wife, Connie; daughter, Jamie (Matt) Hackett and his granddaughter, Haley of Waukee, IA; mother, Margery of Wichita, KS; 4 brothers, Dean (Chris) Robeson of Dakota Dunes, SD, Don Robeson of Spokane, WA, Darrell Robeson of Sioux City and Dale (Lori) Robeson of Wichita, KS; sister, Shirley (Robeson) Myatt of Sioux City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike Kamradt of Sioux City, Don and Dorothy (Plendl) Kennedy of Katy, TX, Bud and Eilene (Plendl) Foster of Moville, IA and Bill and Michelle (Case) Plendl of Le Mars, IA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, Boyd Robeson, sister, Carol Ann (Robeson) Kamradt, grandparents, Elmer and Mabel Millage and Ralph and Stella Robeson and several aunts and uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Gary Hayden, Tim Hayden, Gary Jager, Monte Jost, Jason Kamradt and Stan Millage. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Denny's past bowling team members. Denny and Connie would like to thank all of our families, friends and neighbors for the help, guidance, love and prayers during Denny's illness. Also, thank you to the medical professionals at Mercy Medical Center, Madonna Rehab in Lincoln, Nebr. and Embassy Rehab and Care Center in Sgt. Bluff.
