Lila Jo DeRaad

SIOUX CITY | Lila J. DeRaad, age 69, died at Unity Point Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Born February 2, 1946 in Lincoln, NE, to Robert J. and Lila F. (Bauer) Wall of Greenwood, NE, "Lila Jo" was the oldest of fifteen children. Together, she and her siblings entertained at nursing homes, hospitals, and other events as "The Thirteen Musical Notes." After graduating from Pius X High School, she dedicated more than 40 years to caring for patients as a CNA in nursing homes and hospitals in Omaha and Sioux City. Lila was the proud mother of 7 children, 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She will be especially remembered for opening her heart and extending a place in her family to countless people. Lila truly believed that there was room in her life to love everyone, and a family can never be too big. Survivors include her longtime companion, Lester Syrovatka; 6 children Tammy (Carl) Henningsen of Papillion, NE, Tina (John) Cherica of Omaha, NE, Debbie (Patrick) Innis of Omaha, NE, Valerie Williams of Lincoln, NE, Robert Hubbell of Omaha, NE and Ronell Hubbell of Sioux City, IA; 12 siblings, Robert Wall, Jr., Mary (Bill) Jeppson, Albert (Deb) Wall, Michael Wall, Patricia (Mike) Correa, Frances (Mike) Marymee, Marlene (Harry) Forney, Samuel (Tara) Wall, Ronald Wall, Donald (Rochelle) Wall, Jerome Wall and Helen (Randy) Strode; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alan Hubbell, a granddaughter, Nichole Hubbell and a brother and sister in infancy, Billy and Theresa. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Her son-in-law, Patrick Innis will officiate.
