Jeanette C. Johnson, 79 of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at her residence after a battle with cancer. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Pastor Henry Witte officiating. Entombment will follow at the Logan Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, with the family, will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Concordia Lutheran Church or Hospice of Siouxland. Jeanette was born on May 13, 1936 to Albert and Lucille (Felger) Wegner. She attended St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek, Nebraska and later graduated from Battle Creek High School. On June 24, 1956 Jeanette married Paul S. Johnson. They lived several years in Wayne, Hoskins, and Tilden, Nebraska before moving to Sioux City, Iowa in 1965. Jeanette was a substitute teacher, then worked at Seaton Dry Cleaners, and Bush Dry Cleaners. Jeanette is survived by her husband Paul of Sioux City; son Tom (Lula) Johnson of Easton, KS; daughter Judy (Eric) Johansen of Sioux City; brothers Albert Wegner of Omaha, NE and Jim (Delores) Wegner of Norfolk, NE; brother-in-law Carl Mandal of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren Jesse (Katie), Jeremy (Amy Jo), and Kaile (Amy); four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carolyn Mandal, infant brother Robert, sister-in-law Donna Wegner, and great-granddaughter Jaycee Jo.
