Sunday with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jim Jr. and his family will not be attending the visitation due to his daughter's wedding. They will be at the Church Monday at 9:30 A.M. The interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Marian was born on April 27, 1933 in Sioux City, IA; she was the daughter of Frank and Edith (Lawrey) Perera. She grew up in Sioux City and attended multiple Sioux City Schools and graduated from Central High. She married James L. Morehead on June 17, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Marian and Jim had three wonderful children: Peggy, James and Victoria. Marian was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Lamplighters Ministry. She was active in the PTA at McKinley Grade School and Woodrow Wilson Middle School. She was also a contributing member of the American Cancer Crusaders. She had served as president of Slim Gims exercise and social group where it has been reported that the social aspect may have outweighed the exercise aspect (no pun intended). Marian was Secretary of the Siouxland Rental Association as well. She was known for living life to its fullest and truly loved everyone she met. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and left them with many wonderful memories of laughing, loving, dancing, singing, taking trips, and eating ice cream with her. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: son James Morehead Jr. and his wife Lois of Hinton, IA; daughter Victoria Bott and her husband Rev. David of Jackson, WY; her brother: Jerry Perera of Sioux City; her six grandchildren: Elizabeth (Jensen) DeWitt and her husband Davis; Kathryn Jensen; Tonia (Morehead) Richardson and her husband Josh; Amanda (Morehead) and her fiancé Terry Hines; Bradley Britton; Ede (Britton) Compton and her husband Will; 8 great grandchildren and her special niece Valerie Comstock. Marian was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Edith, her husband James, her daughter Peggy Jensen, her sister Joyce Comstock, and two brothers Mervin Anderson and Jack Perera.
