James O. Bjordahl

James "Jim" O. Bjordahl, 79, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Hinton United Methodist Church. Pastor Kolleen Queener will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jim was born September 13, 1936 in Willmar, MN. He was the son of Carl and Calla (Petersen) Bjordahl. The family moved to Erwin, SD where Jim attended school, and later, the family moved to Sioux City. Jim was employed at Herman Brown Co. for 24 years. In 1974, Jim was injured while working for the company, and due to his injuries, he was forced to retire. Jim enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and great granddaughters and sharing his sweets with them. He enjoyed the company of family and friends. He kept busy working on projects around the house. On April 8, 1967, Jim was united in marriage to LaDonna Mauer. They made their home in Sioux City. Survivors include his wife: LaDonna of Sioux City; a daughter: Marilyn de Montigny and her husband Rod of Helena, MT; a son: Jim Mauer and his wife Cyndie of Sioux City; 4 granddaughters: JaMaine, Jeanette and Judith Mauer and Becky de Montigny; 2 great granddaughters Alexis and Danica; his sister: Kaye Mulder of Jefferson, SD; many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Carlton.
