Lila Mae Jager, 80, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully in the arms of her family Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Westwood Nursing & Rehab Center. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Avenue, Sioux City. Visitation will begin one hour prior to Services at 10:30 am at Meyer Brothers. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery on a later date. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Lila was born on July 26, 1935, in Leeds, Iowa, to Elmer and Mable (Yount) Millage. Lila graduated from Leeds High School in 1953. She married John G Jager, Sr. of Maurice, Iowa, on November 6, 1953, in Sioux City. John preceded her in death on April 17, 2000. Lila retired from St Lukes Hospital after 30 years of service. She retired as a Unit Secretary in the OB Department; many children were born in Sioux City that were cared for by our Mother. As a young woman, Lila had aspirations to attend Morningside College or become a professional ice skater. She, like most Mothers, placed her children lives above her own aspirations. Lila was preceded in death by her youngest son, Brian Alan Jager, twin brother of Brenda. Her surviving children are; John G Jager, Jr, of South Sioux City, Diana Kinsey (Rick Thomas) of Ankeny, Brenda Woodbury (Lance) of Sioux City. Her surviving Grandchildren are; Jim Jager, Austin (KC) Jager, Samantha (Tasha) Jager, Nathan Kinsey, William Kinsey, Nicholas Jager, Chad (Jorgan) Jager, Cody Jager, Aaron Woodbury, Adam Woodbury. Lila was also blessed with 8 Great- Grandchildren. Each Grandchild was given a special space in her heart. Lila will also be missed by her surviving brothers and sister; Marge Robeson of Wichita, Kansas, Louis Millage of Sioux City, and Ronald (Marilyn) Millage of Sioux City. Also, Special Cousin, Alice Mayo of Spokane, Washington. Lila also cherished her time with her many Nieces and Nephews, and Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. You were all an important piece in her loving life. We want to thank Westwood Nursing & Rehab Center and Care Initiatives Hospice for taking wonderful care of our Mother.
