LeRoy E. Hedemark, 73 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rev. Merrill Muller will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. LeRoy was born March 8, 1942 in Sioux City; he was the son of Andrew "Roy" and Evelyn (Dean) Hedemark. LeRoy grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. LeRoy married Patricia Carlson in 1964 and to this union a daughter, Teri was born. He married Penny (Cobb) Smith September 2, 2005 in Lake Andes, SD. LeRoy was a heavy equipment operator and worked for several contactors the last one being Hughes Steel Erection Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife Penny of Sioux City; his daughter: Teri Hedemark of Greenfield, IN; his twin brother: DeRoy Hedemark and his wife Sharron of Moville, IA; 2 step children: Thomas Cobb of Sioux City and Terri Lepley and her husband Mel of Sioux City; a cousin Rita Wood and her husband Kenny of Sioux City; 3 grandchildren: Tessa, Alexandra and Evan; 8 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.
