Lori Marie Albrecht

December 27, 1965 — September 3, 2015

Lori Marie Albrecht, 49, of McCook Lake, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at her home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at First Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial will be 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in Langford, S.D. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 8, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Lori Marie Albrecht was born Dec. 27, 1965, in Aberdeen, S.D., the daughter of Allen and Janice (Goreham) Anderson. Lori married Michael Albrecht on Feb. 8, 1985, in Zweibrucken, West Germany, where Michael was serving in the United States Air Force. After returning to the United States, they lived at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill., DeSmet, S.D., and then Sioux City. Lori was employed with various coffee shops around Sioux City. She had worked at Jitters, Jumpy Monkey, Bread Basket, Starbucks and Panera. Chances are if you bought a coffee beverage in Sioux City, Lori was the one that made it for you. She loved her customers and knew most by name or by the name of their favorite coffee beverage. When not serving coffee, Lori loved flowers, gardening, scrapbooking, swimming, boating at McCook Lake, walking, horses and her cats, BC and Rusty. Her greatest joy was being around people, especially children. She taught Sunday school and Confirmation at First Lutheran Church, where she was a member. Lori was involved with Siouxland AA and NA communities. Those that had the privilege of knowing Lori knew that she was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend and grandmother. Lori is survived by her husband, Michael of McCook Lake; her parents, Allen and Janice Anderson of Langford, S.D.; a daughter, Codi and her husband, Jake Smith and their son, Sage of Lake Preston, S.D.; two sons, Braden and Gavin Albrecht, both of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Chad Anderson and his wife, Darci of Tracy, Minn.; and six nieces and nephews. Lori was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tia; and her grandparents.
