Armando Ortiz Jr.

Armando Ortiz, age 48, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Nelson Berger Northside Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Armando Ortiz Jr., son of Armando and Florestella (Garcia) Ortiz, was born October 26, 1966, at Roma, Texas. He grew up in Rio Grande City, Texas where graduated from high school. On February 6, 1993, Armando was united in marriage with Mary Jane Brewer in Sioux City, Iowa. In 2001, they moved to Sioux City where Armando worked at Clover Leaf Cold Storage. Armando enjoyed attending Baptist church and reading his bible and other history books. His true loves included spending time with his grandchildren and fishing. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Ortiz; his father Armando Ortiz Sr.; Five children: William Montelego; Samantha Montelego; Nathan Montelego; Margaret Fuller; Samantha Ortiz and Dameon Ortiz; two brothers: Orlando Ortiz and Juan Bernardo "Johnny" Ortiz and his wife Anna; 18 grandchildren; a sister-in-law Caroline Brewer; and a brother-in-law Johnny Brewer and his wife Barbara. Armando was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. Memorial donations may be directed to Armando's family and can be left at Nelson Berger Northside Chapel.
