Carl Gilbertson, 77, of Sioux City passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at home. Services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City with Pastor Paul Andell officiating. A luncheon and fellowship will follow at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Carl was born on March 18, 1938 in Sioux City. He also spent his formative years in Sioux City. On March 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Donna Beaubien. Carl's career started as an award winning paper delivery boy for the Des Moines Register. He continued on delivering milk for Roberts Dairy for twenty plus years and ended as a top salesman for Knoepfler Chevrolet for 23 years where he retired in 2005. Carl enjoyed sports, fishing and a good joke. He was a family man who enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He donated fifteen gallons of blood throughout his lifetime. Forever grateful for having shared his life are his wife Donna; four children and their spouses: Gay and Steve Parker of Sioux City, Deb and Mitch Lanning of Sioux City, Kevin Gilbertson of Minneapolis, MN, and Carla and Gregg Johnson of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lucy and his brother John.
