WESTFIELD, IA | Jerald S. "Jerry" Vanderham, 72, of Westfield, IA died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City. Msgr. R. Mark Duchaine will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Akron, IA. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jerry was born Sept. 24, 1942 in Sioux City, IA the son of Sylvester and Madeline (Burnight) Vanderham. He grew up in Sioux City and attended St. Joseph Elementary and Bishop Heelan High School. On September 10, 1960 he married Nancy Warren in Sioux City. Together they raised 4 children, Chuck, Tina, Sue and Phillip. Jerry worked at Sioux Tools and St. Luke's Medical Center. He then returned full time to farming. Jerry enjoyed fishing, working in his shop and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church and was currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include his significant other, Nancy Kahl of Westfield; 3 children, Chuck (Jami) Vanderham of Pocahontas, IA, Tina (Robert) Monroe of Sheldon, IA and Sue (Chris) Stanek of Sioux City; aunt, Delores Stinton of Akron, IA; Kiley Siemieniewski of Topeka, KS; 18 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Phillip and a brother, Thomas.
