B. Eileen Follett, 90 of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Daniel J. Rupp as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be this evening, Wednesday, July 29th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with family present at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Online Condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Memorials may be offered to Blessed Sacrament Homebound Outreach, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Carmelite Nuns of Sioux City. Eileen was born on October 23, 1924 in Odebolt, Iowa to Harry and Nellie (Kennedy) Sommers. She received her high school education while in Odebolt. Eileen worked at the Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio as a Teletype Operator from 1942 until 1944. She furthered her education at Morningside College in 1945. Eileen married Judson C. Follett in 1946 at the St. Jean's Catholic Church in Sioux City. She worked for a title abstractor in the 1950's, at the Topper Café in the 1960's, and for many years into and thru the 1970's for Eddie "Skeets" Washinowski at the Downtown Ballroom and the Sioux City Auditorium. Eileen finished her careers by working concessions at the auditorium and the Tyson Center until her retirement in 2005. Eileen was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts in Sioux City and enjoyed her flowers and crossword puzzles. Eileen is survived by her son Gary Follett and his significant other Marcy Otypka of St. Paul, MN; daughter Terri Bradley and her husband Patrick of Warrensburg, MO; grandchildren Ryan Bradley and his fiancé Lauren Wons of Madison, WI, and Melanie Bradley and her fiancé Ryan Murdock of Kansas City, MO; and sister Marilyn Forsling of Story City, IA. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Judson C. Follett in 2002, son Judson M. Follett, sisters Marjorie Heiken and Jean Gehlen, and brothers James Sommers and Tom Sommers.
