Craig Michael Hansel, 57, of Lenexa, Kan., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. Memorial services will be 5 p.m. today at the Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Lenexa. Visitation will follow until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Additional services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Condolences may be expressed at www.porterfuneralhome.com. Craig was born on Nov. 3, 1957, in Sioux City. From a young age Craig excelled in sports and was known for his competitive energy. He also had a love-hate relationship with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Craig was a simple, hardworking and hard-loving man. He will be most remembered for his unconditional love for his family, his words of wisdom, his enormous heart and his delicious egg sandwiches. Craig is survived by his wife, Diane Hansel; daughters, Jessica Bustillo (Jake), and Megan Hansel; siblings, Jill Dugdale (Steve), Scott Hansel, and TJ Hansel (Lisa); grandson, Liam Bustillo and his little brother or sister coming in February; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Joan; nephew, Lee Patterson; and his buddy, Mark Hoolihan.
