Mark G. Hoefling, 56 of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 6, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mark was born July 18, 1958 in Sioux City; he was the son of Ronald and Nancy (Cabana) Hoefling. Mark lived most of his life in Sioux City but did spend a few years in California. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980. Mark was a self-employed house painter but has worked the last 7 years for Irwin Records Management. He enjoyed taking walks with his grandson Kingston, fishing, working out and doing yard work. Mark also volunteered painting at some Sioux City Parks. Survivors include his daughter, Brittany Hoefling of Sioux City; his mother: Nancy Irwin and her husband Mick Irwin of Sioux City; his father: Ronald Hoefling and his wife Judith of Hollister, CA; 3 sisters: Shelley Goodell and her husband Larry of Des Moines, IA, Michaelene Brownfield and her husband Michael of Polson, MT, Lori Hoefling Maldonado of Yorbalinda, CA; his brother: Troy Hoefling and his wife Jenelle of Hollister, CA; grandson: Kingston Gregory Michael Davis.
