Elizabeth Pedersen, age 79, of Moville, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at a local Sioux City hospital. Funeral services will be 2 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM. Online condolences may be left at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Elizabeth Margaret, daughter of Henry and Margaret (Lindstrom) Hollander, was born December 22, 1935, in Denison, Iowa. She grew up in Manilla and graduated from Manilla High School in 1953. While in school, she participated in band and baton twirlers. She met Clarence Pedersen while he was working in Denison. On August 6, 1955, they were united in marriage. They lived in Sioux City until 1965, and then moved to Lawton where they raised their children. Elizabeth worked as a seamstress for Aalfs Manufacturing, Hovland Manufacturing and Stockman's Incorporated, retiring in 1978. Known as "Betty" to many, she was an avid bowler in her younger years, loved crocheting, reading books, and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by: her children: Brad Pedersen of Lawton; Mike (Mary) Pedersen of Sioux City and Shelly (Bill) Barnes of Pierce, Nebraska; grandchildren: Josh Pedersen, Nicole (Diego) Puente, Bryan (Amanda) Pedersen, Mark Pedersen, Ray Barnes, Jake Barnes and Jesse Pedersen; great-grandchildren: Brendon, Ethan, Autumn, Braeden, Elizabeth, Colton, Braelyn and Jayden; brothers Ken Hollander and Robert Hollander; sisters Henrietta Beckenhauer and Pam (Gary) Prusa; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, her parents, a daughter-in-law Sherrill, and brothers and sisters-in-law. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations which may be given to the Moville Public Library.
